Maximize earnings and minimize deadhead with enhanced Powerloop drop-and-hook bundles, now available nationwide

Drop-and-hook services have become increasingly sought-after, offering carriers enhanced efficiency and earning potential. Uber Freight’s drop-and-hook capacity solution, Powerloop, has seen explosive growth since 2018, with more than 10,000 carriers servicing more than 220,000 loads to date. In 2023 alone, the capacity program experienced a 30% increase in load volume.

Powerloop has since expanded from Texas, California, and Oklahoma to nationwide access for carriers. Shippers can use Uber Freight’s Powerloop solution to access Powerloop dry van trailers for more capacity without having to invest in the assets themselves.

Powerloop also enables power-only carriers to maximize earnings by connecting them with pre-loaded trailers. To help carriers continue growing their drop business, we’ve combined our ever-growing shipper network with Uber Freight technology to bring you more efficient ways to discover and win more power-only loads.

Introducing Enhanced Powerloop bundles

Today, carriers have options when working with Powerloop. They can book one load at a time utilizing Powerloop trailers or book Powerloop bundles, or a tour of multiple loads, from multiple leading shippers without the need to provide their own trailers.

Powerloop bundles use a proprietary bundling algorithm to look across all loads in the Uber Freight Network to find round-trip loads for carriers to optimize their earnings while reducing deadhead. Because we are searching across Uber Freight’s dynamic network of shippers, our bundles cover a number of regions, lanes, and drop configurations. With Powerloop trailers, carriers are also able to haul backhaul loads – whether it is an Uber Freight or another load in the carrier’s network – for more flexibility, less deadhaul miles and the ability to earn more.

The bundles are not limited to one type of drop loads—they are now available in different configurations—drop/live, drop/drop, and live/live to give carriers the flexibility to choose the best drop loads for their business. That’s why bundles are a great way for carriers to maximize their earnings while minimizing empty miles and wait times.

How it works

We combine eligible loads across the Uber Freight network to maximize asset utilization while creating valuable earning opportunities. Eligible loads include power-only loads within the Uber Freight platform.

Bundles are now available to book on the Uber Freight web portal and app. Carriers can search and choose specific lanes they are interested in, filter for power-only loads, then explore round-trip bundles nationwide.

Carriers of all sizes—from individual owner operators or large fleets—can book Powerloop bundles directly from Uber Freight and even assign drivers for these bundled loads. Booking these loads is as easy as clicking the “book loads” button within the app!

Since launching bundles in January, we’ve helped carriers reduce nearly 18,000 deadhead miles. On long hauls, carriers have eliminated 3 deadhead miles for every 10 miles loaded.

Getting Started

Carriers that have completed the Uber Freight onboarding process and are active on the Uber Freight web portal and/or app can book Powerloop loads today.
